Responsibilities

  • Instruct patients/clients in the proper principles of exercise, utilizing a variety of media and equipment.
  • Demonstrate and maintain the alertness and the physical abilities to act in emergency situations.
  • Effective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written skills for report writing and presentation of information to patients and staff.
  • Good problem solving skills to identify and prioritize issues in responsive manner.
  • Implement and execute action plan on timely basis and ensure appropriate results as defined by clinicians.
  • Active listening, reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to remain flexible with unexpected situations and in a changing work environment.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Exercise Physiology REQUIRED
  • Minimum one year experience in direct patient care
  • Certified to perform stress tests

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds dead weight alone.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a work day/shift.
  • Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and monitor patient needs and to maintain accurate records, recognize people and provide directions.
  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
  • Ability to push wheeled equipment through the facility and in the community.
  • Possess fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing of reports, charting, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentations, either manually or through use of dictation equipment.
  • Possess fine motor skills for effective and efficient handling of diagnostic or therapeutic equipment.

This position is eligible to earn a base compensation rate in the state range of $26.84 to $33.51 hourly depending on job-related factors as permitted by applicable law, such as level of experience, geographic location where the work is performed, and/or seniority.
