As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing the accounting activities for Concentra's locations through a solid understanding of business processes, systems, and an in-depth knowledge of current generally accepted accounting principles and guidance. The role will supervise two Senior Accountants, and will report to the Director of Business Unit Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate monthly accounting, close processes and financial reporting for multiple medical locations, internal service and administrative departments and ancillary businesses
  • Supervise, develop, and retain professional accounting staff
  • Provide financial liaison support to operational colleagues ensuring appropriate accounting of activity and meaningful analysis in support of operational strategies
  • Manage monthly joint venture accounting and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting controls and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the accounting processes
  • Provide guidance and support for financial audits by liaising with the external auditors
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and accrual accounting
  • Communicate and work with all levels of Corporate management

Qualifications

Education/credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA in good standing required, CPA candidate – currently sitting for the CPA examination, considered

 

Job-related experience

  • Customarily has five or more years' experience managing full cycle month end close process, account reconciliation and variance analysis
  • Experience with multiple entities and/or partnership accounting preferred
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
