The HR/Benefits Coordinator is responsible to assist in the development and delivery of Human Resource services and in the specific area of human resources and benefits administration.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely input of all employee data changes (i.e., transfer, costing, status change, position change, standard hours).
  • Work with vendor responsible for benefit enrollments and changes, including any reimbursements or retro-deductions as it concerns employee deductions.
  • Assists employees in resolving escalated benefits or 401(k) issues in an effective, customer focus and timely manner. This may include correcting data, processing forms, and coding information into a database in accordance with system policies and regulations.
  • Reviews daily, weekly and monthly reports to address errors or control/reconciliation/audit needs
  • Process Garnishments/Medical Orders and benefit subpoenas, as well as complete employer portion of Medicare form.
  • Work with HR Admin vendor (currently Businessolver (BSC)) regarding escalations.
  • Mail/Return Mail processing.
  • Understand the HR/Payroll system and work with internal departments to drive efficiencies.
  • Establishing, maintaining, and performing administrative processes for any employee benefits that are administered in-house
  • Support to employees and field HR Coordinators in the area of benefits administration basic HR Policy, Procedures, and Practices.
  • Assisting with the daily operation of the HR Help Line, which includes addressing employee questions/issues, directing questions/issues to other areas of HR as necessary, and tracking calls as needed.
  • Providing scheduled routine reports to field HR Coordinators, as well as providing reports on an as-needed basis.
  • Assisting with the routine audit of information within the Oracle HR/Payroll System.
  • Providing assistance with regular and routine processes associated with Benefits or HR Administration. Examples include open enrollment, vendor eligibility management, and/or eligibility audits.
  • Identifying areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new protocols need to be developed, so as to maximize the efficient administration of the employee benefits function.
  • Supports the mission and direction of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education Level: Associate Degree ; Major: Human Resources or a related field of study
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience
  • In lieu of higher education, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice-versa.
  • Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable
  • At least one (1) year of Human Resources experience with a general knowledge of the payroll process and benefits administration (preferred).

Job Related Skills

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, including v-lookup and pivot table excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and/or ADP HRMS, or a related software package, is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws/regulations preferred
  • Ability to handle issues involving sensitivity, confidentiality, and legal exposure.
  • Commitment to high standards, integrity and ethics.
  • Tremendously proactive, customer/results focused high achiever, delivers on commitments.
  • Desire to champion best practices.
  • Ability to work with all colleagues within the organization and facilitate communication effectively.
